Frequently Asked Questions

Q What is Waiting Room Theater?
A Waiting Room Theater (WRT) is the new in-office patient education and entertainment platform designed specifically for dentists by dentists. Our content is a combination of entertainment, independent product comparisons (like Consumer Reports), humor, and information.

Q How will patients receive it?
A WRT has been deployed in Dr. Grossman's office in Brentwood, California for over 50,000 patient visits since 2001 and he has not had a single patient complaint! In fact, the response has been resoundingly positive. Patients respond to our programming because the product companies do not own us. Dentists, not marketers, control our content. Further proof of this is seen in the overwhelming success of the over 3000 practices nationwide that have deployed Waiting Room Theater. One need look no further than the typical experience of Dr. Rick O'Braitis of Mission Viejo, California, who experienced immediate and dramatic positive results. His complete review can be seen on this website.

Q So nobody feels like they are being advertised to or "sold" anything?
A Exactly. They are obtaining valuable, relevant information; and being entertained and educated, not pressured to purchase specific products. An informed patient feels more in control, is less anxious, and has a more positive experience.

Q When do I get updated content?
A With our new digital delivery systems, new content is sent to your media player over an internet connection. Whenever there is new content, it automatically is added to your player and begins playing with the rest of the content..

Q Haven't I seen something like this already?
A Not at all. You may be aware of those expensive programs designed for patient education in the waiting room. None allows the patient to communicate back to the programmer. None of them enhances your revenues in the way Waiting Room Theater does: by generating an increase in product and service awareness from your patients.

Q What other content will I see on my Playback Unit?
A In addition to education, there is "dental comedy" and dental factoids. There is also a weather feed, time and temperature indicators, and a section that personalizes each playback unit with your practices relevant information.

Q We have a highly personalized approach to dentistry in our practice. I don't think you can replace us, even with high tech streaming content?
A Of course not - we wouldn't even try! We expect to enhance your efforts as a patient education tool, not replace your personal touch. You are still completely in the driver's seat. Studies have shown that people believe what they see on TV more than information from any other content delivery vehicle. Our programming, reinforcing what you've communicated to the patient, is a very effective combination.
